Thank you for your interest in the Calgary Chefs Association – the Calgary branch of the Culinary Federation. We are a professional not-for-profit association promoting the Culinary Arts. The Association was formed and the first meeting was held at the Crossroads Hotel in the fall of 1958 and was incorporated in 1961 as the Academy of Chefs Calgary. The familiar name CACC we now use dates back to 1986, and is now under the hospice of The Calgary Chefs Association.
Acclaimed as President in 2018, I am excited for the opportunity to have an impact on moving our Association forward and being able to focus on the next generation of Young Chefs. In partnership with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), The Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic Board of Education we strive to inspire our Young Chefs to create and use their talents to the best of their abilities.
Whether our Young Chefs are going through the Apprenticeship, Professional Cooking, Hospitality Management or Pastry Arts Programs, it is pivotal that we have veteran National Chef Members in the Association to help mentor the aspiring Young Chefs.
We have a fully rounded Board of Directors that I am excited to work with; from Associate Members in restaurant equipment supplies and chef apparel, to active National Chef Members and Chef Instructors in the industry. Mentorship and unique workshops are at the forefront of our Association.
It is not without the support of the Membership-at-Large and experienced National Chef Members that we will be able to make an impact not only in our Young Chefs Members’ careers but also have a lasting impact in our Community.
We hope that, whichever membership you join with, you will find value and innovation in our workshops, social hours, Gala’s and general events; with engaging speakers, trend-focused workshops, and mentorship opportunities throughout the year.
